What is PyAstronomy?

PyAstronomy is a collection of astronomy-related algorithms implemented in Python.

The available functionality is arranged in a number of subpackages.

funcFit and the modelSuite

A convenient fitting package providing support for minimization and MCMC sampling along with a number of ready-to-use models.

AstroLib

A collection of small-scale routines including a number of ports from IDL’s astrolib.

Timing

Algorithms for timing analysis such as the Lomb-Scargle and the Generalized Lomb-Scargle periodogram.

pyaGUI

A collection of GUI tools for interactive work.

Constants

Easy access to some common constants.
