SCPI Lab Instruments
Control instruments in the receiver lab over Ethernet using SCPI commands
Installation
To install via pip
:
python3 -m pip install git+https://github.com/Smithsonian/SCPI-Lab-Instruments.git
To use the Keithley module, you also need to install the vxi11
package. This can be installed by:
python3 -m pip install git+https://github.com/python-ivi/python-vxi11.git
Example
from labinstruments import *
# Connect to Hittite signal generator
sg = Hittite('192.168.0.159')
sg.set_power(-40, 'dBm')
sg.set_frequency(5, 'GHz')
sg.power_on()
# Connect to Keithley power supply
ps = Keithley2280('192.168.0.117')
ps.reset()
ps.output_on()
ps.set_voltage_limit(12)
ps.set_voltage(2)
ps.set_current(0.1)
ps.power_on()
