This code can be used to explore data with the following format:

• HDF4

• HDF5

• netCDF and netCDF4

• IDL save file

Dependencies

• Python 3.6

  • h5py

  • pyhdf

  • scipy.io

  • netCDF4

How to install

Open up a terminal,

pip3 install datainfo

How to use

For example, we have a HDF4 file named “MCD43C3.A2015337.005.2015365205333.hdf”. Open up a terminal, type in:

lss MCD43C3.A2015337.005.2015365205333.hdf

The variable information will be displayed as the following:
