Installation

Install django-stainless:

pip install django-stainless

Add it to settings.py of your app:

INSTALLED_APPS = (
    ...
    'django_stainless'
)

Usage

Run cleanmediafiles command to remove all unused media files:

python manage.py cleanmediafiles

This will find all media files associated with FileField (and ImageField) of your models, that are not being used by any objects anymore.

To skip the confirmation of an action, use –force or simply -f option (useful when setting up a cron job).
