Monitors slave status, door sensors, and provides validation to slave requests

Project description

![Modis GmbH](http://modislab.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/logo_100.png) # [Monitor](http://www.modislab.com)

Intended to run as a daemon service that monitors the incoming requests from Modis readers. The monitor also maintains conditions of 2 door sensors as well as 4 possible readers.

Notifications are handled at the monitor but they are sent asynchronously via Redis and Celery.

## Installation The monitor was designed to run on a Raspberry Pi 3 or CM3 module. It will not work on Micro$oft Windows.

An emulator can work with a Linux based system and the [GPIOEmu](https://github.com/paly2/GPIOEmu) package in place of the [RPi.GPIO](https://sourceforge.net/projects/raspberry-gpio-python/) package.

Validation requests are handled through Raspberry Pi’s UART so if running on a Pi3 will need the BT module disabled and the pins configured for UART communications.

#### Requirements

Supervisor apt install supervisor A MySQL service is also required to be running on the same machine. apt install mysql-server5.5

##### Optional For notifications, a redis server is required. apt install redis

#### Installation can be accomplished with: pip install modislock_monitor

The installation writes several files to the /etc/supervisor/conf.d, the install will need to have super user privileges.

sudo pip install modislock_monitor

#### Database Population

The initial installation will populate the database. No user intervention is required.

## Options

You can adapt the configuration of the monitor by modifying the config/default.py or config/development.py or config/production.py files based on your mode of operation.
