Overview
rope is a python refactoring IDE and library. The IDE uses the library to provide features like refactoring, code assist, and auto-completion. It is written in python. The IDE uses Tkinter library.

Better status bar
Move method refactoring has been added. In this refactoring a method of a class is moved to the class of one of its attributes. The old method will call the new method. If you want to change all of the occurrences of the old method to use the new method you can inline it.
Change occurrences refactoring is a special refactoring. It replaces occurrences of something with what you want. This refactoring is different from rename refactoring; It only changes the scope it was invoked from. Second it does not rename anything it only replaces occurrences and has no side-effects. This refactoring can be used to perform some non-standard refactorings.
You can define your own templates in ~/.rope. See examples in the default ~/.rope file. (rope.ui.dot_rope module; It will be copied to ~/.rope if none already exists.)
