Introduction

Urlunshort un-shortens URLs that have been created using a URL shortening services, like tinurl.com, bit.ly etc.

Examples

Resolve a short URL to a target URL

>>> from urlunshort import resolve
>>> resolve("http://bit.ly/qlKaI")
'http://bitbucket.org/runeh/urlunshort/'

Check if URLs are shortened

>>> from urlunshort import is_shortened
>>> is_shortened("http://bit.ly/qlKaI")
True
>>> is_shortened("http://www.opera.com")
False
