A brown bag of browsers for UNITRACC, a Plone customization

A brown bag of “browsers” for Plone sites.

The purpose of this package (for now) is not to provide new functionality but to factor out existing functionality from an existing monolitic Zope product. Thus, it is more likely to loose functionality during further development (as parts of it will be - or have already been - forked out into their own packages, or some functionality may even become obsolete because there are better alternatives in standard Plone components).

It is currently not expected to be useful to a broader audience; many “browsers” implemented here are very specific to our sites like they exist now.

Installation

Install visaplan.plone.browsers by adding it to your buildout:

and then running bin/buildout

Improvements for structure copy:

• Use the same copy form and functionality for all types of structural content; requires visaplan.plone.structures v1.0.3.dev1+.

• All fields of the copy form for structural content can be preset.

• No clearing of the user_id filter “on click” anymore.

• Selectable copy depth for refered objects (range 0 to 3, default: 2).

Improvements for structure management:

• Unified form for all operstions (per structure type, for now) with inputs which are automatically shown/hidden, depending on the action

• Structure validation now takes some parameters
