Project description
SearchBar is a replacement for IDLE’s clumsy ‘find’ and ‘replace’ dialogs. Instead of popping up a dialog, a bar is created at the bottom of the window. Hitting the Escape key or clicking the editor window closes the search bar.
In addition, SearchBar includes an improved search mechanism, which marks all hits when searching. Plus, incremental search is supported - what you type is searched for as you type it.
The new search mechanism has undergone significant optimization - unless editing large files (>100KB), searching is nearly instant.
The newest version also supports completion in the find/replace entries - just hit Alt+/ (multiple times to go through all possibilities), just like in the editor window.
