A command-line utility for system searches.

SuperSearch (susearch) v1.0

susearch is a command line utility that has the ability to search an entire file system for a given file or directory and it outputs the assoaciated paths. There's an option to limit the search; how many associated paths to find and exit. Associated paths can also be written to a file for futher inspection or just as a log file and allows the user to specify the name of the file. The most common usage is a system-wide search, meaning it will search the entire system providing it has permissions to do so. Relative searches occur when given a specific path to search. A system-wide search uses te flags -f and -d while only specifying a filename or a directory name. The -p flag only triggers a system-wide search if the specified path is "/" (Linux) or "C:\" (Windows) while only specifying a filename or a directory name along with the --file or --dir options. The help flag (-h) is divided into sections which can be passed as arguments or the -h flag can be used on its own without any arguments.

System-wide Search Examples:

susearch -f <filename>

susearch -d <dirname>

susearch -p root_path [<filename> --file] [<dirname> --dir]

Relative Search Example:

The path cannot be the root path!
susearch -p <path> [<filename> --file] [<dirname> --dir]

This version of SuperSearch (susearch) is currently only available for Linux operating systems.
