Actuate Python API

Actuate runs coding agents in interactive worlds and keeps their workspaces, transcripts, checkpoints, recordings, and logs together.

Install

python -m pip install actuate-agents

The distribution is named actuate-agents; the Python package is imported as actuate:

Precompiled wheels support CPython 3.8 and newer on Linux and macOS.

The wheel also installs the native Actuate command and its production web application:

actuate app

Actuate launches agent-provider commands such as codex, claude, or kimi. When a provider CLI is missing, Actuate asks before installing it. Use install="if-missing" in an unattended script or install="never" to disable installation. A version is an exact, verified CLI pin. The default process multiplexer is tmux; alternatively configure a supported herdr installation.

License

Actuate is proprietary software. The package may be installed and used under the terms in the included LICENSE.
