Release status
v0.1.0-developer-preview is a Developer Preview. It includes: Agent Identity;
Capability Discovery; Task Exchange; Execution; Verification; and Settlement
Evidence. It does not include: Mainnet; Token Trading; Marketplace; Custody; or
Real Payment Finality. APIs and compatibility guarantees may change.
Install
python -m pip install aep-ai-connectors aep-ai-hermes
For a reproducible Preview deployment, pin
aep-ai-connectors==0.1.0 and aep-ai-hermes==0.1.0. Hermes Connector 0.1.x
requires Python 3.12 and the compatible aep-ai-connectors 0.1.x series.
Upgrade the pair together and rerun registration plus heartbeat verification.
Quick Start
Enable the aep entry point from hermes.plugins, provide AEP_API_KEY in
the process environment, and bind explicit Hermes tool names to existing AEP
Capability UUIDs.
The plugin supports identity, message, tool, Task, Result, Connector Session,
and heartbeat hooks. It never infers economic commitments from messages and
does not host the Hermes runtime.
The AEP API must use HTTPS. allow_insecure_localhost=True is a loopback-only
development exception; public HTTP fails with HTTPS_REQUIRED before the API
key is sent.
