Agent-operated developer-experience CLI. Non-agentic, deterministic, markdown-first. The same wheel is published on PyPI under three distribution names — devex-cli (canonical), agent-devex, and agex-cli (the legacy canonical name, still published) — and installs two equivalent commands, devex (canonical) and agex (legacy alias) (emitted output reflects whichever name you invoke).

The advice loop

devex advise --agent <backend> closes the developer-experience loop: it measures three coverage surfaces (usage, test, capability), learns from the agent's own tracked usage, renders an introspection trail, and ends with a recommended next move. Its per-backend Next step: footer chains command to command so an agent can run non-touch. Read-only and deterministic — zero LLM calls. Usage tracking arrives via devex gamify hooks. PR webhooks (opt-in)

Set DEVEX_PR_WEBHOOK_URL and devex pr open / pr reply / pr review will POST a best-effort JSON notification ({event, repo, id, subject, content}) to that webhook. Discord URLs are auto-detected and get a Discord-shaped payload; any other URL gets the raw fields. Unset = no network call; a failed POST never blocks the PR action.
