algopython
Python library for controlling an AlgoBrix robot over USB: motors, sensors, LEDs, sounds, and the included camera/AI features.
Install
VS Code is an editor, so users need both VS Code and a supported Python 3.8–3.12 interpreter. In VS Code, install the official Python extension, open a terminal, then run:
python -m pip install --upgrade pip
python -m pip install algopython
Connect the robot by USB and use it in a Python file:
from algopython import *
if algopython_init():
light12(2, 10, "green")
move("A", 1, 5, "CW")
algopython_exit()
On Windows, if the USB serial port is not detected automatically, pass its COM
port explicitly: algopython_init("COM3").
The pytesseract feature additionally requires the separate Tesseract OCR
application to be installed and available on the system PATH.
