anthropic-sdk
Community companion package for the Anthropic API.
Re-exports the official anthropic package so import anthropic_sdk gives you the
same client, plus lightweight helpers people keep re-writing.
Install
pip install anthropic-sdk
Usage
import anthropic_sdk as sdk
client = sdk.Anthropic() # same as anthropic.Anthropic()
The package intentionally depends on the official anthropic release and stays
out of its way — everything the official SDK exports is re-exported here.
CLI
A small utility is installed as anthropic-sdk:
anthropic-sdk --version
anthropic-sdk --check
--check reports whether the local install is current.
