🎨 artlab
ASCII art in your terminal.
Bundled retro art, big block-letter text, rainbow colors, and animation. Zero dependencies. Works in Python 3.8+.
Why artlab?
Because the terminal deserves a little personality.
- Bundled ASCII art — robots, cats, dragons, unicorns, yoda, octopuses, hearts and more.
- Block-letter text — print any word big,
figlet-style, with zero dependencies. - Rainbow & colors — 256-color palettes, or dims down for your pipelines.
- Animation — reveal art with a slick frame-by-frame intro.
- Zero dependencies — pure Python stdlib. No install drama.
Install
pip install artlab
Or run without installing:
pipx run artlab --help
Via Docker:
docker run --rm ghcr.io/dsk-dev-ai/artlab --help
Usage
# Show a random piece
artlab
# Show a specific piece
artlab robot
artlab cat
artlab dragon
# List everything
artlab -l
# Print big block text
artlab --text "SHIP IT"
artlab -t "artlab" -c cyan
# Force a palette
artlab robot -c green
artlab dragon -c magenta
# Animate the reveal
artlab unicorn -a
# No color (for scripts / piping)
artlab robot --no-color
