AtBot
AtBot is the local-first intelligence companion for AtMem.
The PyPI distribution is named atmem-atbot to keep its ownership explicit.
It intentionally installs the shorter atbot Python package and CLI command:
python -m pip install atmem-atbot==0.1.1
atbot --version
AtBot proposes and ranks; AtMem authorizes and stores.
The 0.1.1 candidate adds bounded action-review, quoted source dossiers and memory-state assessment interfaces for explicitly configured hosts. Existing proposal/ranking endpoints remain compatible. Providers and remote egress remain opt-in; these interpretations never authorize canonical mutations. AtMem 2.3.10b1 pins this version; stable AtMem 2.3.9 keeps its own 0.1.0 pin.
AtBot provides model-backed memory inference, entity and relationship proposals, query expansion, reranking, and bounded memory maintenance. It is not an independent customer-facing agent and does not own canonical memory.
The supported product interface is the unified AtMem dashboard. Host agents such as OpenClaw, Hermes, and other runtimes integrate through agent-specific adapters into the same AtMem authority contracts.
Companion development
During joint development, install both packages editable:
python -m pip install -e ".[dev]" -e ../..
Start the headless local companion:
atbot serve
Then open the AtMem dashboard. AtMem discovers the companion and uses it for natural-language memory query, extraction, and ranking. If AtBot is unavailable, AtMem continues through its deterministic and hybrid-search fallback.
Run the suites from the AtMem repository root:
python -m pytest -q
python -m pytest -q packages/atbot/tests
See the current architecture and repository implementation status. Maintainers publish this distribution through AtMem's AtBot release procedure.
License
AtBot is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. It permits commercial and internal enterprise use, modification, and distribution, subject to the license terms. Apache-2.0 also provides an explicit contributor patent grant and does not require an organization to publish private changes merely because it runs the software as a service.
AtBot 0.1.0 is the first stable companion release, retaining the existing headless proposal/ranking interface. AtMem remains the authorization and storage authority. This version does not claim independent agent operation or universal model-provider compatibility.
