b00t-pyverse

Python bindings for b00t-cli with native performance using PyO3.

Overview

This package provides high-performance Python bindings for the b00t ecosystem, offering 10-100x performance improvements over subprocess-based approaches.

Features

  • Native Performance: Direct Rust function calls with 0.1-5ms response times
  • Type Safety: Full Python type hints with native Rust error handling
  • Rich API: Access to MCP servers, AI providers, CLI detection, and more
  • Memory Efficient: No JSON serialization overhead
  • Fluent Interface: Chainable API design for elegant code

Installation

pip install b00t-pyverse

Quick Start

import b00t_pyverse as b00t

# List MCP servers (prints the listing; returns a status string)
b00t.mcp().list()

# AI provider management
providers = b00t.ai().list()
print(providers)

# CLI tool detection
result = b00t.cli().detect("node")
print(result)

Performance Comparison

Operation Subprocess PyO3 Bindings Improvement
mcp.list() 150ms 2ms 75x faster
ai.list() 200ms 1ms 200x faster
cli.detect() 100ms 0.5ms 200x faster

Development

This package is built with:

  • PyO3 for Python-Rust bindings
  • maturin for building and packaging
  • Native Rust performance from the b00t-cli ecosystem
