Installation
Basic installation:
pip install bsg-ide
On Linux, the wheel installs the BSG-IDE .desktop application entry into the active installation prefix and the icon when it is included in the package.
For a normal user installation, use python -m pip install --user bsg-ide; the entry is then placed under ~/.local/share/applications by pip/setuptools.
If your desktop environment does not refresh its application cache immediately, log out/in or run update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications when that utility is available.
Full installation (with all features):
pip install bsg-ide[full]
Quick Start
After installation, you can launch BSG-IDE in several ways:
From command line:
bsg-ide
From application menu:
- Windows: Start Menu → BSG-IDE
- Linux: Applications → Office → BSG-IDE
- macOS: Applications → BSG-IDE.app
Creating a new presentation:
- Click "New" or press Ctrl+N
- Add slides with titles and content
- Insert media (images, videos)
- Generate PDF
Requirements
- Python 3.8 or higher
- LaTeX distribution (MiKTeX on Windows, TeX Live on Linux/macOS)
