cite-mcp
Agents that cite — or stay silent.
cite-mcp is the swamplink shell for cited-data MCP: product tools that
answer from a real corpus (every figure traces to a source), plus a future
router so Cursor/Claude can discover wings, xycalc, plates, foundation, and
siblings without five separate mcp.json blocks.
This repo holds the name and contract. Product math stays in product repos
(counting-chicken-wings, xycalc, …). Cite-mcp does not re-host corpora.
Status
v0.0.1 parks the PyPI / GitHub names. The first product MCP (wings
wings-mcp) lands in counting-chicken-wings; this package grows the shell
after that is dogfooded.
Honesty contract
- No bare-number tools — answers carry sources (or say they cannot).
- Product MCPs own their YAML/SQLite; cite-mcp routes or documents, it does not fork the numbers.
- Never conflate domain-specific dual answers (e.g. wings
requiredvsdistinct) into one vague figure.
Install
pip install cite-mcp
# editable while developing:
pip install -e ".[mcp]"
