Civitascope Data
Status: early development. This release only reserves the package name. There is no usable functionality yet.
Civitascope turns open Eurostat data into verifiable, sourced infographics. This package is the data engine: it fetches data from the Eurostat API, checks it against hand-reviewed dataset cards and computes the figures. Drawing the charts is the job of civitascope-render; the website is civitascope-web.
Core principle
The model never states a number on its own. The LLM interprets the question, selects the right dataset and writes the answer; all calculation is done in code, and every figure is checked against the retrieved data before it is shown.
Planned
- Dataset retrieval over the Eurostat catalogue
- Multi-step agent: search, fetch, compute, answer with source link
- Evaluation suite measuring dataset choice, numeric accuracy and refusals
- Infographic generation (country rankings, regional maps, then-vs-now) with faithfulness checks
