Installation

pip install co-mit

Usage

$ cmt --help

 Usage: cmt [OPTIONS]

 Helps with git commits.

  1. Set the OPENAI_API_KEY environment variable to your OpenAI API key.
  2. Navigate to the root of your git repository.
  3. Run cmt or co-mit to generate a commit message:

Development

I will assume you have uv installed.

To install co-mit along with the tools you need to develop and run tests, run the following in your uv virtualenv:

uv pip install -e .[dev]
