CyberPen

Pen drive & disk recovery studio with a modern Qt (PySide6) GUI, light/dark theme, and a built-in SHIELD antivirus.

Install

pip install cyberpen
# optional extras (PDF rebuild, YARA rules)
pip install "cyberpen[extras]"

Run

cyberpen            # or: python -m cyberpen
cyberpen --check    # environment diagnostics

Administrator / root is needed for deep raw scans (on Linux use sudo -E cyberpen).

Features

• Drive dashboard (USB / disks, usage, filesystem) and custom device / .img path
• Quick scan: Recycle Bin / Trash / lost+found / FOUND.000 fragments
• Deep scan: raw signature carving (JPG, PNG, GIF, MP4, MKV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, PDF, Office/ZIP, DOC, RAR, 7Z, SQLite)
• Bad-sector tolerant disk imaging to .img
• FAT16/FAT32/exFAT undelete with original names and folders
• Disk Doctor: MBR/GPT reader, lost-partition finder, surface test
• SHIELD antivirus: heuristics, ClamAV, optional YARA, VirusTotal hash lookup, quarantine vault
• Read-only on the source drive; recovery refuses to write onto the source
