Query metrics and manage dashboards from the terminal.

Installation

# Install from local build
uv tool install ./backend

# Or install from GitHub (once published)
uv tool install git+https://github.com/dataspring/dataspring#subdirectory=backend

Using pip

pip install ./backend

Quick Start

# Login with Google OAuth
dataspring login

# Check who you're logged in as
dataspring whoami

# Export to JSON
dataspring query -m total_revenue --format json > data.json

Commands

Authentication

dataspring auth login # Device flow: approve the code in a browser signed in to DataSpring
dataspring whoami --json # The person, the org, where the org came from (org_from), the role
dataspring auth logout # Revoke this machine's keys and forget them
dataspring org list # List your organizations

Every command names its organization: --org <org>, else DATASPRING_ORG then FORSPRING_ORG, else .forspring.json ({"org": "<org>"}) in this directory or a parent, else DATASPRING_API_KEY's own org, else the only stored key; otherwise it is refused with org_required (exit 2).

Provenance

Provenance describes where a file came from. On PyPI, provenance is shared via attestations, which provide a verifiable record of the build or publishing details. View details, limitations and caveats.

Loss of provenance

A previous release of these files had provenance metadata, but this release does not.

While this could reflect a routine change by the project maintainers, it may also indicate that the release files have been compromised.

Release comparison

  • Removed 0.4.5 2 files With provenance
  • Added 0.5.1 2 files Without provenance

A note on package security

PyPI is a repository for distributing packages, not a service for auditing them. While third-party security researchers and our staff do their best to detect and remove malicious packages, PyPI cannot guarantee the quality, security or suitability of any given package.
