Tool for retrieving data from a PACS

Project description

DICOM-QR

This program allows you to query and retrieve images from a DICOM node.

This needs a settings.json file with the following data:

{
  // Specify either 'dimse' or 'dicom_web' but not both.
  "dimse": {
    "server_ae_title": "SOMETHING",
    "server_ae_ip": "SOMETHING",
    "server_ae_port": SOMETHING,
    "client_ae_title": "SOMETHING",
    "client_ae_port": SOMETHING,
    "transfer_method": "move" // or "get", depending on the capabilities of the server.
  },
  "dicom_web": {
    "url": "http://localhost:8042/dicom-web",
    "username": "SOME USER", // or environment variable, see below.
    "password": "SOME PWD"
  },
  "base_folder": "dumpdir",
  "folder_template": "${PatientID}/${StudyDate}/${StudyDescription}/${Modality}/${FolderUID}_${SeriesDescription}",
  "study_columns": [
    {"name": "Index"},
    {"name": "PatientID"},
    {"name": "StudyDate"},
    {"name": "StudyDescription", "justify": "left"}
  ],
  "series_columns": [
    {"name": "Index"},
    {"name": "SeriesInstanceUID", "justify": "left", "no_wrap":  true},
    {"name": "Modality"},
    {"name": "SeriesNumber"},
    {"name": "SeriesDescription", "justify": "left"}
  ]
}

Search strategy for settings file:

  1. 'DICOM_QR_SETTINGS' environment value
  2. 'settings.json' in current directory
  3. ~/.config/dicom_qr/settings.json

If the username and/or password for a DICOM Web server starts and ends with a $, the value between that is interpreted as an environment variable and a lookup is performed.
i.e. $DICOM_WEB_USERNAME$ is replaced by the contents of environment variable DICOM_WEB_USERNAME
