Hostel Management WebApp using django

Pre-requisite: git, python

Quick start

1. Install app.

   pip install django-hstl
   

2. Modify settings.py such that

   AUTH_USER_MODEL = 'django_hstl.MyUser'
   
   # Add the app in your INSTALLED_APPS
   INSTALLED_APPS = [
   	# ...,
   	"django_hstl",
   ]
   
   # Basic Session related settings
   SESSION_COOKIE_AGE = 300
   SESSION_SAVE_EVERY_REQUEST = True
   SESSION_EXPIRE_AT_BROWSER_CLOSE = True
   
   # Advance Session related settings
   SESSION_COOKIE_SECURE = True
   CSRF_COOKIE_SECURE = True
   SECURE_SSL_REDIRECT = True
   SESSION_COOKIE_HTTPONLY = True
   

3. Include the app URLconf in your project urls.py like this

   path("hstl/", include("django_hstl.urls")),
   

4. Run python manage.py migrate to create the models.
5. Create Superuser manage.py createsuperuser
6. Visit the /hstl/ URL to explore the WEB APP.

Getting Started

1. Create a directory and cd into it.

   mkdir ./hstl/
   cd ./hstl
   

2. Create a virtual environment and activate it.
   • LINUX / MAC

   python3 -m venv .venv
   source ./.venv/bin/activate
   

   • WINDOWS

   python -m venv .venv
   .\.venv\Scripts\activate
   

3. Install app.

   pip install django-hstl
   

4. Create a django project

   django-admin startproject MyApp .
   

5. Modify "MyApp/setting.py" such that

   AUTH_USER_MODEL = 'django_hstl.MyUser'
   
   # Add the app in your INSTALLED_APPS
   INSTALLED_APPS = [
   	# ...,
   	"django_hstl",
   ]
   
   # Basic Session related settings
   SESSION_COOKIE_AGE = 300
   SESSION_SAVE_EVERY_REQUEST = True
   SESSION_EXPIRE_AT_BROWSER_CLOSE = True
