dronelabour-dllm

dronelabour-dllm is the Python library for building DLLM-compatible conversational applications. It provides base classes, file-based prompt management, and a simple LLM API for the OpenAI and Google Gen AI Python libraries.

What it provides

  • A base class for conversational applications, so developers can begin building application behaviour without first creating the surrounding base.
  • File-based prompt management. Store LLM requests in prompt files and let the library prepare those requests before calling the provider API.
  • A consistent local API for OpenAI and Google Gen AI calls.

How it fits in DLLM

Use dronelabour-dllm to build an application that DLLM Desktop can manage. DLLM Desktop provides the local conversational interface and manages registered applications, while App Hub keeps those applications running.

For a complete managed-application starting point, use chattemplate. The New App+ action in DLLM Desktop uses this template to create an application that developers can extend with their preferred coding agent.

Documentation

Supported providers

The current public provider support is OpenAI and Google Gen AI. Configure the API key required by the provider you use before making LLM calls.

Status

dronelabour-dllm is currently in beta and requires Python 3.13 or later.
