firetower (Python)

Know what breaks before it breaks. Audits the third-party APIs your project depends on against Firetower's deprecation feed + live package registries.

This is a thin client - it sends your project files to the Firetower API, which runs the audit and returns the findings. No engine, no dependencies (stdlib only).

Install

pip install firetower

Use

Create an upload token in the dashboard (Connect CI) and export it:

export FIRETOWER_TOKEN=ft_…
firetower                 # audit the current directory
firetower path/to/project # audit elsewhere
firetower --json          # raw report JSON

Exit code is 1 when any finding is critical, so it drops into CI as a gate:

Set FIRETOWER_API to point at a self-hosted backend (default https://api.firetower.sh).
