Gala is a Python package for Galactic and gravitational dynamics.

Installation and Dependencies
The easiest way to get Gala is to install with pip or uv.
Gala can be installed with pip (with uv or standalone):
pip install gala
You can also add gala as a dependency to your environment with:
uv add gala
See the installation instructions in the documentation for more information.
Gala follows SPEC 0 for its minimum supported versions of Python and core dependencies (e.g., numpy, scipy): support for a Python version is dropped 3 years after its initial release, and support for a core dependency version is dropped 2 years after its initial release.
