GigaLoom

Quality Documentation PyPI Python npm License GigaLoom coverage baseline

GigaLoom is a local, provider-neutral control plane for coding agents. It combines provider-native giga <agent> commands and a browser cockpit for governed sessions, approvals, worktrees, schedules, evaluations, and multi-agent workflows.

GigaLoom 0.8 builds on the first stable 0.7 release with native-agent profiles, an ACP registry, reviewed app installation, and deterministic headless execution. It keeps user state local, redacts sensitive values at storage and UI boundaries, and fails closed when an action needs authority that has not been granted.

Use it to:

  • run Codex, Claude, Gemini, Pi, and compatible agents behind one local control plane without replacing their native CLIs;
  • isolate work in project-bound worktrees while retaining approvals, receipts, evaluations, and replayable evidence;
  • add reviewed MCP apps and ACP agents through digest-bound installation plans;
  • automate headless runs through a deterministic JSONL contract and optional adapters without granting ambient credentials or workspace authority.

Install

Python 3.11–3.14 and an installed provider CLI are required. Managed provider terminals additionally use tmux on Linux and macOS; systems without it keep provider-native passthrough.

uv tool install 'gigaloom==0.8.0'
giga doctor
giga --version

Start the browser cockpit:

giga ui

Then open http://127.0.0.1:8091/. Prefix native provider commands without changing their remaining arguments:

giga codex exec --json "review this repository"
giga claude -p "review this repository"
giga gemini -p "review this repository"
giga pi

See Installation and Quickstart for the complete first-run flow.

Gateway integration

The base gigaloom distribution is independently installable and does not require a gateway source checkout. Direct Chat and the legacy local-gateway preset are optional:

uv tool install 'gigaloom[gpt2giga]==0.8.0'

The optional extra consumes the released gpt2giga distribution. Its normalized protocol and compatibility contracts remain owned by the gpt2giga gateway project; see the integration guide for canonical links.

Development

npm --prefix web ci --ignore-scripts
npm --prefix web run build
./scripts/ci-base.sh sync
./scripts/ci-base.sh ruff-check
./scripts/ci-base.sh pytest tests/harness -q

Build the standalone distribution with:

uv build --no-sources

Read CONTRIBUTING.md before submitting changes and GOVERNANCE.md for ownership and recovery rules. Report bugs through GitHub Issues, but send suspected vulnerabilities through the private channel in SECURITY.md.

Source history

GigaLoom was extracted from the combined ai-forever/gpt2giga repository. Links to that repository in older changelog entries and migration notes are historical source references, not current development locations. Current development, issues, documentation, and releases belong to krakenalt/gigaloom.
