🔒 Private Buckets & Security

gofile-tui provides flexible privacy and access control options:

  • Password Protection: Encrypt folder access with a password. Anyone visiting the download link must enter the password to download files.
  • Account-Private Folders: Mark buckets as private (public=False) so only your account token can access them.
  • 1-Click Web Login: If you create private folders, you can authenticate your web browser in one click! Press [o] or press [g] -> [l] to open https://gofile.io/login/<TOKEN>, which immediately logs your browser in so you can view, download, and manage your private files in "My Files".
  • Custom Folder ID: Directly target an existing Gofile folder ID from your account dashboard.

Configure interactively inside the TUI by pressing [g] (Buckets & Security), or via CLI flags:

# Upload to a password-protected bucket
gofile-tui -p "mySecretPass" file.zip

# Upload to an account-private bucket
gofile-tui --private file.zip

# Upload directly into an existing Gofile folder
gofile-tui --folder-id "fld-1234abcd" file.zip

📁 Clean Isolated Storage (gofile-files/)

All application runtime data, credentials, and logs are automatically kept in a dedicated gofile-files/ subfolder inside your current working directory to keep your project directories clean:

  • gofile-files/gofile.txt: Permanent upload log with filenames and download URLs.
  • gofile-files/session.json: Active transfer queue state and resume checkpoints.
  • gofile-files/token.txt: Authenticated Gofile API account token.
  • gofile-files/sessions/: Historical session archive backups.
  • gofile-files/reports/: Exported HTML dashboards, Markdown summaries, CSVs, and JSON files.
