Example proto definitions.
pip install helloworld-proto
Python
The helloworld_proto package is generated entirely from api/**/*.proto.
Packaging uses uv.
Supported Python versions: 3.10 – 3.14.
Building
uv run --group dev scripts/generate_python_package.py
uv build --wheel
Or the same thing through the Makefile:
make build
Publishing
Publishing is automatic: creating a GitHub release triggers the workflow in
.github/workflows/publish.yaml, which takes the version from the release tag via
setuptools-scm, builds the wheel, and uploads it to PyPI.
Development
Add new proto files under the ./api directory.
Create a pull request with your changes. Do not commit generated python code.
