Four HF softmodems — shrike (PACTOR-1/2/3, the waveform published as ITU-R M.1798), kestrel (VARA), besra (ARDOP) and sabir (a clean-sheet protocol) — and one station process that owns the radio: the PTT-keyed transceiver, the sound card, and the host ports mail clients speak.
Everything runs from recordings with no radio attached, and transmit = false
in the station file is a hard interlock.
Outbound mail delivery is confirmed over PACTOR-3, VARA and ARDOP. PACTOR-1 has received gateway mail. All four modems remain pre-alpha; the project README records the tested paths and remaining limits.
