jupyter-mcp-live
An MCP server built into Jupyter Server: AI agents edit and run the notebooks open in JupyterLab, with outputs streaming into cells live.
This is a placeholder release. It contains no functionality yet. The first full release is coming soon.
What it will do:
- Runs inside Jupyter Server. No separate process or port: the MCP endpoint
is served at
{base_url}mcpand uses Jupyter's own authentication, including JupyterHub. - Edits the notebook you have open. Changes go through JupyterLab's real-time collaboration document, so they appear in your browser as they happen, without reloads, duplicated cells or lost edits.
- Streams outputs live. Long-running cells show progress in the notebook while they run.
- Works with any kernel: Python, R, Julia and others, reusing the kernel JupyterLab already started for the notebook.
