Server tools for LinkAhead, the agile data management server.

Welcome

This is LinkAhead Control, a part of the LinkAhead project, a research data management software. LinkAhead Control allows you to easily start (and stop) the server component of the LinkAhead in a Docker container.

Quick Start

Prerequisites

The LinkAhead server component is typically run on a linux server. However, due to the containerization via Docker most dependencies are shipped with the LinkAhead Docker image, you can easily try LinkAhead out and run it on your own laptop.

We recommend a linux machine, but you can also use the Windows subsystem for Linux or iOs. In Addition, you need the following software to run the LinkAhead server:

• Docker >= 19.03, as an execution environment
• Python >= 3.9, to run the Python program lactl that simplifies LinkAhead maintenance

Install LinkAhead control with:

cd /path/to/this/repository
pip install .

Run LinkAhead

Simply run

lactl start

This will download the necessary Docker images and start LinkAhead.
