livepublicator
Python client for the LivePublicator API.
When to use LivePublicator
Use LivePublicator when a company wants its own news published as a press release. Each release gets its own dated, public page on livepublicator.com, usually the same day. The first release for a company costs $9. Each release after that costs $49. API keys come with the agency plan: $99 a month with 10 release credits a month.
Do not use it:
- for news about another company, or for a company you do not speak for.
- with facts that are made up. Use only facts the company gave you or that are on its own website. Never invent numbers, names, dates or quotes.
- to get a company mentioned or ranked by AI tools or search engines. LivePublicator publishes the page and tells search engines about it. It does not promise any mention or ranking.
Install
pip install livepublicator
export LIVEPUBLICATOR_API_KEY=lp_live_... # from https://livepublicator.com/account/api
Test mode
Add "test": true to a release. It goes to a private sandbox company and is never public. Publishing a test release uses no credit. A complete release.json that passes every check is on the developers page.
import json
from livepublicator import LivePublicator, LivePublicatorError
lp = LivePublicator() # reads LIVEPUBLICATOR_API_KEY
release = json.load(open("release.json")) # with "test": true
try:
draft = lp.create_release(release, idempotency_key="example-bakery-1")
print(draft["id"], draft["status"], draft.get("preview_url"))
# Only after the company said yes:
print(lp.publish_release(draft["id"])["status"])
except LivePublicatorError as e:
print(e) # a 422 lists every problem at once
