LoopGrid Claude Launcher

Secure, Claude-specific MCP launcher for LoopGrid Decision Evidence.

This package runs the existing published loopgrid-mcp==0.1.0 without modifying it or affecting integrations that depend on that version.

Features

  • Launches the existing LoopGrid MCP server for Claude Code.
  • Filters inherited environment variables before starting the MCP application.
  • Maps the explicitly configured, sensitive Claude plugin service_key option to LOOPGRID_SERVICE_KEY.
  • Rejects non-HTTPS remote LoopGrid Core URLs. Local HTTP connections to loopback addresses are supported for development.
  • Preserves the existing LoopGrid MCP tools and their behavior.
  • Does not execute external business actions. The underlying MCP tools record and verify decision evidence.

Installation

After the package is published on PyPI, Claude Code can launch it using:

uvx loopgrid-claude-launcher==0.1.0

The launcher is intended to be configured through the LoopGrid Claude Code plugin. Users should normally install the plugin rather than configure this executable manually.

Configuration and security

The launcher uses the operator-selected Claude plugin configuration for the Core URL, workspace and service key.

The service key should be configured through the plugin's sensitive service_key option. Do not embed credentials in repository files, command-line arguments or committed configuration.

Remote Core connections require HTTPS. Loopback HTTP is supported for local development.

Important security limitation: uvx starts the Python package manager before this launcher's environment filtering runs. The launcher can sanitize the environment used by the MCP application, but it cannot sanitize the environment already received by uvx. This limitation must be considered when deploying the plugin in environments containing sensitive credentials.

Compatibility

  • Claude Code plugin: LoopGrid Decision Evidence
  • MCP dependency: loopgrid-mcp==0.1.0
  • MCP dependency modifications: None
  • Package license: Apache-2.0

Release and maintenance

This launcher is distributed independently from loopgrid-mcp. Updating the Claude-specific launcher does not require releasing a new version of the existing MCP package.

Published versions and installation availability should be verified on PyPI.

The LoopGrid Claude Code plugin and its security requirements are maintained separately from other LoopGrid integrations.
