mcafee-epo-policies has moved to trellix-epo
This project is no longer maintained. It continues as trellix-epo (GitHub: bmarandel/trellix-epo), which receives all the updates.
pip uninstall mcafee-epo-policies
pip install trellix-epo
This release (2.0.0) contains no code: it only points to the new project.
The last version with code is 1.2.0 (pip install mcafee-epo-policies==1.2.0),
kept on PyPI for existing installations, without updates.
Why move
mcafee-epo-policies was created on 2020-10-26 and had 18 releases, from
0.0.1 to 1.2.0 (2020-10-26 to 2026-10-05). trellix-epo 2.0.0 is the same
library with its whole history, and much more:
- every policy module of 1.2.0 (Trellix Agent, ENS Threat Prevention, Firewall, Adaptive Threat Protection, Web Control, Storage Protection, Common, Solidcore, System Information Reporter), plus Trellix EDR with Forensics;
- the length, number range and allowed characters of every console field checked, as the ePO console does;
- a built-in client of the ePO Web API (standard library only) with tags, client tasks, Main Repository, System Tree, policy assignments, server tasks, queries, users and permission sets;
- Policy Assignment Rules, Markdown documentation of the policies, and every server behaviour checked on an ePO 5.10 lab.
