mcp-walmart-marketplace — merged into mcp-walmart-ads
Deprecated. This server has merged into mcp-walmart-ads (>= 0.2.0), which serves the same 28 Walmart Marketplace domains alongside Walmart Connect Ads and Sam's Club Sponsored Ads.
0.1.0is a placeholder release. It no longer starts a server: themcp-walmart-marketplaceentry point prints the steps below and exits non-zero, so a host still configured against it fails visibly instead of silently serving a stale surface.
Marketplace shared no byte-identical code with the two ads servers, but had written the same redirect shedding, cURL builder, and spec-cache mechanics a second time — in each case better. One package now fronts all three credential boundaries, and where the implementations differed, Marketplace's won.
Migrating
1. Point your MCP host at the unified server
{
"mcpServers": {
"walmart": { "command": "uvx", "args": ["mcp-walmart-ads"] }
}
}
2. Move your config
~/.config/mcp-walmart-marketplace/config.json becomes a platforms entry in
~/.config/mcp-walmart-ads/config.json. Credentials, advertisers, and
partner_id keep their shape — the tree just moves down one level.
// before
{
"regions": { "primary": { "production": { "credentials": [ ... ] } } }
}
// after
{
"platforms": {
"walmart:marketplace": {
"regions": { "primary": { "production": { "credentials": [ ... ] } } }
}
}
}
Server-wide keys (response_cache_ttl, truncate_threshold) stay at the top
level. Because this block is the bulk of a populated config, consider dropping
it in ~/.config/mcp-walmart-ads/config.d/marketplace.json as
{"platforms": {"walmart:marketplace": {...}}} — a file that fails to parse
then costs only its own platform instead of every one.
3. Rename the ids you call with
| old | new | |
|---|---|---|
| api | order-management |
walmart:marketplace:order-management |
| operation | order-management:getAllOrders |
walmart:marketplace:order-management:getAllOrders |
| filter param | domain |
api, or platform for all of Marketplace |
| resources | wmm://config |
wmt://config |
wmm://domains |
wmt://apis |
|
wmm://responses/{id} |
wmt://responses/{id} |
|
wmm://curl/{id} |
wmt://curl/{id} |
4. Two tools changed shape
upload_feed folded into call_endpoint, which sends multipart when given a
file_path:
// before: upload_feed(feed_type="MP_ITEM", file_path="items.json")
// after:
{
"operation_id": "walmart:marketplace:feed-management:uploadFeed",
"file_path": "items.json",
"params": { "feedType": "MP_ITEM" }
}
list_endpoints takes api where it took domain, and gains platform —
pass platform: "walmart:marketplace" to get back exactly what this server
used to list. describe_endpoint, call_endpoint, download_file, and
refresh_specs keep their names.
advertiser_id is still required on every executing call, and still selects
the credential to act as.
The last working release
0.1.0a1 is the last release that starts a server. It is yanked but still
installable when pinned exactly, if you need to buy time:
uvx --from "mcp-walmart-marketplace==0.1.0a1" mcp-walmart-marketplace
It receives no fixes. All 28 specs ship unchanged in mcp-walmart-ads, so
there is nothing to gain by staying.
