MiniMindsLab Tag Normalize

MiniMindsLab Tag Normalize provides tiny, deterministic helpers to normalize tag strings and join them into a canonical display form.

Features

  • Split text using configurable separators (default: comma).
  • Trim surrounding whitespace.
  • Optionally lowercase values.
  • Remove empty entries.
  • De-duplicate while preserving first-seen order.

Installation

pip install minimindslab-tag-normalize

Usage

from minimindslab_tag_normalize import normalize_tags, join_tags

normalize_tags("  Foo, bar ,foo,,Baz ")
# ['Foo', 'bar', 'Baz']

normalize_tags("A| b |a", separators=["|"], lowercase=True)
# ['a', 'b']

join_tags(["x", "y", "x"])
# 'x, y'

API

  • normalize_tags(value, separators=None, lowercase=False) -> list[str]
  • join_tags(value, separators=None, lowercase=False, joiner=", ") -> str

join_tags accepts either an iterable of strings or a single string input.
