Nami

Nami is an interactive, multi-platform media downloader CLI for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X (Twitter), powered by gallery-dl and yt-dlp.

Installation

pip install nami

All dependencies (rich, gallery-dl, yt-dlp) are installed automatically.

Run Nami from your terminal:

nami

On your first run, Nami prompts you to create a storage directory containing:

Nami/downloads/ — Downloaded media output
Nami/cookies/ — Netscape cookie files (instagram.com_cookies.txt, etc.)
Nami/profiles/ — Profile URL list files (instagram_profiles.txt, tiktok_profiles.txt, etc.)

Add target profile URLs (one per line) into the .txt files in Nami/profiles/.
(Optional) Place exported Netscape format cookie files into Nami/cookies/ for accounts requiring authentication.
Launch nami and select what media types you want to download (Photos, Videos, Stories, Highlights, or All).

Settings and path configurations are saved automatically to ~/.nami/nami_config.json.
Customize theme contrast using the environment variable:
```
export NAMI_THEME=light   # or dark
```
