Microservice import into netbox devices in production

netbox-netprod-importer is a tool dedicated to help moving your current knowledge base to Netbox as an IPAM/DCIM, independently of your the current information system. It connects to a given list of network devices and parse their status and configuration to import them into Netbox like they are currently configured.

It is thought to be generic and infrastructure agnostic. It means that imported data will probably need to be adapted by some custom scripts, like the specification of roles, tennant and other properties on objects.

Used by Online.net on more than 5000 network devices.

Looking for a new maintainer

This project has be done initially for Online.net, a company I (@Anthony25) am not working for anymore. Therefore, I have now no need for this project, and will not be able to test any pull request.

Devices interconnections:

• Build an interconnection graph by using LLDP to add (and optionally clean) interconnections between devices in Netbox

Compatibility

Tested on:

• Cisco IOS (catalyst, 2960)

• Cisco Nexus 9000

• Cisco ASR (but no specific parser written, some features are not available)

• Juniper

Installation

Run:

pip3 install netbox-netprod-importer

netbox-netprod-importer is tested under python 3.5 to 3.7
