Use current location on fsm orders

Field Service - Current Location

This module adds the ability to use the current location in FSM orders. It is helpful for business workflows where field workers need to create orders on-site. By automatically filling in the current address, it reduces manual entry and helps prevent human error.

Configuration

To comply with Nominatim’s usage policy, each instance must have a unique User-Agent string configured.

This value is stored in the system parameter: nominatim.user_agent

If not set manually, it will be automatically generated the first time the geolocation feature is used

and stored under Settings → Technical → System Parameters.

You can optionally define a custom value (for example, including your company name or contact email)

to make API requests more easily identifiable and compliant with OpenStreetMap policies.

Usage

1. Create an FSM Order.

2. Set a Location for the order.

3. Click the Use Current Location button.

This will create a sub-partner under the selected location, using your current geographic coordinates as the address.

📍 For better accuracy, use this feature on a mobile device with GPS enabled.
