Pre-release

This release is a pre-release and may not be stable for production use.

openlatch-client-schemas

Canonical JSON Schemas for the openlatch-client wire format. This package is the source of truth for the contract between openlatch-client (Rust) and openlatch-platform (Python + React).

OpenLatch is the agent-agnostic execution control layer for enterprise AI agents. The client is its capture-and-enforce adapter, running inside the agent's execution path; the platform authors the policy it evaluates. These schemas are what the two exchange.

Usage

from openlatch_client_schemas import schemas_path, load, load_all, load_catalog

schemas_path()                 # pathlib.Path to the bundled schemas/ directory
load_all()                     # {"enums": {...}, "event-envelope": {...}, ...}
load("event-envelope") # parsed schema for one file
load_catalog() # retained protocol families, adapters and fixtures

Contents

File Purpose
enums.schema.json AgentType, HookEventType, Verdict, AgentFunction, ChurnLayer
event-envelope.schema.json EventEnvelope wire-format
verdict-response.schema.json VerdictResponse returned to agent hooks
policy-bundle.schema.json PolicyBundle — the compiled rules the client holds resident and evaluates locally
cloud-ingestion-request.schema.json CloudIngestionRequest sent to platform
cloud-ingestion-response.schema.json CloudIngestionResponse from platform
auth-me-response.schema.json AuthMeResponse for /api/v1/users/me
contract-catalog.schema.json Shape of the retained protocol-family catalogue
contracts/ Catalogue, v1/v2 fixtures, generated compatibility matrix and negotiation grammar

The schema package has its own release line. Contract-family integers in the catalogue are independent from both package and client-binary SemVer.

Breaking Changes

Breaking schema changes require a major version bump. Consumers pinning an exact version will not be silently broken. See the openlatch-client CHANGELOG for what changed.
