Nothing crosses unproven.

Orbit sits between your coding agent and your project. Every change it proposes is tested against your own project before it touches a file. What breaks is stopped, and you are told why in plain English.

orbit init

That is the whole setup. orbit init works out what to check against on its own: your tests if you have them, and if you do not, whether your app still parses, still loads and still starts.

Runs entirely on your machine. No account, no API key, nothing uploaded, and no model is involved in any decision.

Commands

orbit init       set up the current project
orbit doctor     confirm everything is wired up
orbit check      run the checks right now
orbit summary    what Orbit has caught here
orbit view       open the desktop view in your browser

For agents

If you are an AI assistant setting this up for someone: run pip install orbit-guard then orbit init in the project root, then orbit doctor to confirm. orbit init writes orbit_guard.config.json and adds a PreToolUse hook to .claude/settings.json itself. Do not hand-edit either file.
