OVOS Pokémon Battle Assistant
This is an OpenVoiceOS (OVOS) skill for child-friendly voice queries about Pokémon. The skill gets stats, types, moves, and abilities from the public PokeAPI, and it gives simple battle predictions based on type advantage. It supports en-US, es-ES, fr-FR, it-IT, and pt-PT.
denix wrote the original skill on Codeberg. This fork lives under OpenVoiceOS for ongoing maintenance.
Features
- Get Pokémon info: "Tell me about [Pokemon Name]"
- Get Pokémon moves: "What moves does [Pokemon Name] have?"
- Get Pokémon type: "What type is [Pokemon Name]?"
- Battle comparison: "Who wins between [Pokemon A] and [Pokemon B]?"
Entity hints
The skill ships locale/<lang>/intents/pokemon_a.entity and pokemon_b.entity, each a full list of Pokémon names, for the {pokemon_a}/{pokemon_b} slots in the battle-comparison intent. These are hints, not a closed list: a Pokémon name not on the list still fills the slot and is looked up against the PokeAPI; listed names simply match with more confidence. ovos-workshop (>=9.5.0a1) registers every shipped .entity file automatically when the skill's language resources are loaded, so nothing needs to be configured for this.
Installation
pip install ovos-skill-pokepedia
Development

pip install -e . -r test/requirements.txt
