P2E-2T
P2E-2T explains Python source code in plain English. It includes a terminal learning mode and a Tkinter GUI with editor tabs, lessons, project saving/loading, and error-help features.
P2E explains code; it does not execute the user's Python program.
Install from PyPI
py -m pip install p2e-2t
Launch terminal mode
p2e
Launch the GUI
p2e-gui
On Windows, use a Python installation that includes Tcl/Tk for the GUI. If p2e is not found immediately after installation, close and reopen CMD so it refreshes PATH.
Terminal commands
help— show commandstranslate print('hello')— translate one linetranslate— enter multiline mode; typeENDon its own line to finishexplain <code>— show a step-by-step explanationlesson list— list built-in lessonslesson 1throughlesson 8— show a lessonquit/exit— leave terminal mode
Development
From this folder:
py -m pip install --upgrade build twine
py -m build
py -m twine check dist\*
Upload to TestPyPI first if desired, then publish to PyPI using an account and API token you control:
py -m twine upload --repository testpypi dist\*
py -m twine upload dist\*
Do not share your PyPI password or API token with anyone. Package name availability must be checked on PyPI before publishing.
