pingi: an easily and highly configurable data science plotter

pingi is a python wrapper around matplotlib, seaborn and ipython for creating highly configurable data science visualizations with minimal code.

Requirements

To be able to install and use the pingi package in your project, you would need:

  • An Unix-like environment.
  • uv project manager.

Installation

1. Install package from PyPI

  • Install the latest stable release from PyPI in the activated virtual environment using uv:

    uv add pingi
    

2. Install LaTeX (optional)

  • To further use LaTeX in the plots, install its dependencies:

    uv run pingi-install-latex
    

Getting started

Use LaTeX text rendering

  • Enabling LaTeX rendering in the plots by setting parameter usetex=True in function configure_rc():

    from pingi.configure import configure_rc
    
    configure_rc(usetex=True)

Installation of development dependencies

  • Create the development environment using all dependency groups:

    uv sync --all-groups
