ReqExtract
Extract 3rd-party requirements from Python code. reqextract makes no network requests and sends no telemetry; it only reads local .py files and writes stdout or the given output file. reqextract is stdlib-only and requires no third-party dependencies.
Install
pip install plainkitbin-reqextract
Usage
reqextract ./myproject
reqextract ./myproject -o requirements_draft.txt
Limitations
Uses AST to statically find import statements. It filters out standard library modules to give you a rough draft of your requirements.txt. It does not execute code and does not extract versions. It skips common ignored directories like .git, node_modules, venv, and __pycache__.
Free and open source (MIT license, see LICENSE). No nagware.
