py-azure-devops-mcp

MCP Server implementation for Azure DevOps, enabling AI agents to manage work items.

Installation

pip install py-azure-devops-mcp

Configuration

The server requires the following required environment variables:

AZURE_DEVOPS_MCP_TENANT_ID="your-tenant-id"
AZURE_DEVOPS_MCP_PROJECT_NAME="your-project-name"
AZURE_DEVOPS_MCP_PAT="your-pat"

If your Azure DevOps organization has work item with custom fields, the following environment variable is also needed:

AZURE_DEVOPS_MCP_CUSTOM_PROPS="{'custom_field_one': 'Custom.AliasFieldOne'}"

Usage with AI Agents

You can run the server using the python module:

python -m py_azure_devops_mcp.server
